Sebagai peneliti di Kelompok Keilmuan Penginderaan Jauh dan Sains Informasi Geografis (Remote Sensing & Geographical Information Science Research Division). Menjadi Kepala Pusat Penginderaan Jauh ITB sejak 2005 serta menjadi Ketua Umum Masyarakat Penginderaan Jauh Indonesia (MAPIN) periode 2006-2009.

Wah saya protes dengan kata “hanya” pada pernyataan “… hanya berjuang melalui surat”, coba bayangkan dengan setting pada masa Ibu RA Kartini masih hidup, bukankah itu suatu pemikiran yang sudah sangat jauh ke depan. Wanita Indonesia sudah seharusnya sangat berterimakasih atas jasa-jasa beliau, kalau tidak ada pejuang emansipasi wanita, apakah akan ada presiden wanita, menteri, dokter, insinyur dan profesi-profesi hebat lainnya di indonesia? yang membuktikan bahwa antara laki dan perempuan sudah sejajar.
Mengapa pejuang emansipasi wanita bukan dari kaum pria, ya iyaaa…lah nanti semua kesempatan diambil oleh kaum wanita, terlebih lagi karena kaum ibu memiliki beberapa kelebihan yang sampai kapanpun tidak akan bisa dimiliki para bapak.
Tapi untuk para PAPA jangan putus asa dan bersedih karena bagaimana pun hebatnya sang mama, kita (para anak dan istri) tetap memerlukan figur pemimpin, pelindung, pengayom yang tangguh dan bijaksana, dan kita sangat berterimakasih untuk keikhlasan para PAPA dalam membanting tulang untuk menafkahi keluarga.

Saya alumni GD 92 yg sangat tertarik dengan GIS sejak kenal dulu waktu diajar pa Lukman, ttp kemudian hrs menerima kenyataan pahit bahwa setelah lulus ternyata daya serap utk bidang GIS sangat terbatas. akhirnya hrs melarikan diri ke laut sekarang. Skripsi saya dulu mengulas ttg aplikasi GIS utk dunia industri khususnya Perbankan, dan sy jg mengajukan banyak usulan ttg aplikasi GIS utk bidang2 sosial lainnya yang berkaitan dgn spasial data di skripsi saya. Yang mau saya tanyakan apakah sekarang aplikasi GIS sudah menyentuh dunia Industri secara luas belum Pak…?, Trimakasih….

Buat erick, sori telat merespon komentarnya. Thanks atas komentarnya. Aplikasi GIS untuk bidang sosial khususnya di luar negeri sudah pada tahap implementatif. Misal; menentukan wilayah yang dikategorikan sebagai wilayah miskin. Di beberapa negara bahkan negara berkembang seperti Indonesia sudah mengaplikasikannya.
Buat mycko, thanks juga komentarnya. Banyak topik tugas akhir yang bisa kita gali. Kalau berminat sekali-kali dan kalau ada waktu silakan mampir ke Pusat Penginderaan Jauh ITB. Sukses selalu.

Begini Pak,ada yang ingin saya tanyakan mengenai skala,maksud saya : Saya sering menggunakan program Autodesk Map,nah kemudian Bagaimana cara kita membuat suatu peta dengan skala yang sesungguhnya (1:1),karena dengan skala peta yang real tentu kita akan dapat mengetahui berbagai parameter,luasan,dan length secara real di lapangan secara akurat tanpa harus menghitungnya secara manual.
